The library of CUEB was first founded in 1956 as the library of Beijing Economics College (founded in 1956) and the library of Finance and Trade College of Beijing (founded in 1978). In 1995, the two Colleges merged into the Capital University of Economics and Business. Now, the library covers an building area of 26,200m2, consisting of the Main Campus Library (the West Library and the Reading & Teaching Building) and the East Library. There are seven Departments in the library at present, namely, the Library Office, Department of Resource Construction, Borrow Book Department, Reading Room, Department of Information Service, Department of Technical Support, Department of Special Collection and the East Library. These departments provide services of circulation, reading, reference, document delivery, inter-library loan, reader training, printing and copying.
The Main Campus Library contains over 900,000 volumes. Plus those in East Library, the total number amounts to 1,600,000. Moreover, there are over 2,400 sorts of Chinese current periodicals, 260 sorts of foreign current periodicals, together with 40 sorts of Chinese database resources and video resources as well as the New Oriental Online Study.

8:00am—10:00pm (For Periodical Reading Rooms)
Closed only at Spring Festival.
The Main Campus Library is comprised of 11 rooms as follows: Research and Reading Center, Reading Room of Ancient Books, Reading Room of Economics, Reading Room of Books on Literature & Art, Reading Room of Natural Science, Reading Room of Social Science, Reading Room of Linguistics, Reading Room of Management, Reading Room of Foreign Languages, Reading Room of Sample Books, Reserve Room and Basic Book Storage as well.
The Reading & Teaching Building includes Current Issue Reading Room, Back Issue & Newspaper Reading Room and Digital Reading Room.
The East Library includes Research & Reading Center, Reading Room of Social Science and Reading Room of MBA Specialty.
Readers can retrieve the information about the collection and book status by the public retrieval system, or the indexing mechanism in every library room. On our home page, we provide readers with substantial resources including general information of our library, news, database retrieval, retrieval of the collection catalog, interlibrary loan, document delivery, common software download, VOD and submission system of undergraduate dissertation.
