Education background

Professor  Zhang graduated from institute of mathematics of Jilin University with a  Ph.D. in 1999. He has paid academic visits to the Department of  Statistics at the National University of Singapore, the Department of  Mathematics in University of Washington, the Statistics Department of  the University of Minnesota, the Statistics Department in the University  of Illinois, and the Department of Mathematics for the University of  Delaware from 2006 to 2007.

Research Achievements

Professor  Zhang has engaged in statistical research and the application of  information statistics theory and method. His research works have  important value in the high-dimensional nonlinear data analysis and  processing, functional data analysis processing and biological data  analysis. He has been repeatedly invited abroad to carry out cooperative  research or to offer keynote speeches or special reports in the  international conferences. His research achievements have been  recognized by peer scholars.

1. He had published more than 50 theses in famous academic magazines at home and abroad, like: Genome  Research, Pattern Recognition, BMC Bioinformatics, Journal of Image and  Vision Computing, Computerized Medical Imaging and Graphics, Journal of  Network and Computer Applications, the Statistica Sinica, Computational  Statistics and Data Analysis, Journal of Multivariate Analysis, and Science China Mathematics.

2.  Nearly 30 of his academic papers have been indexed by SCI, including  papers cited by other SCI authors 100 times, two SSCI indexed papers,  and six EI indexed articles. As a SCI index article, the paper he  published “Computerized Medical Imaging and Graphics” was cited 41  times, including by L. Philip Chen, a famous professor of the  international association of electrical engineers (IEEE Fellow).

3. He published results and R processes in chapter 7 of the book Bioinformatics for Omics Data in 2011, chapters 5, 10, 11 and 18 of the book Modeling Dose-Response Microarray Data in Early Drug Development Experiments Using R in 2012, in chapters 10 and 11 each used a whole section of carefully introduce the computations and conclusions of the paper.

4.  Has been the main recipient and participated in over 15 projects for  the funded National Natural Science Foundation and at the provincial  level, including National Natural Science Foundation major projects,  general programs, youth programs, Ministry of Education Innovation Team  programs, the New Century Outstanding Talent Support program and the  Ph.D. Fund.
