CUEB Wins 2nd and 3rd Prizes in North China Final of 8th IMA Campus Management Accounting Case Competition
On April 21st, the Final Round of the 8th IMA Campus Management Accounting Case Competition in North China was held at Jingshi International Academy Exchange Center of Beijing Normal University. Spotlight and Show Me the Digits, the two teams from CUEB, won the 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
The competition was launched on December 1st, 2017. CUEB set up 11 teams for the competition, including 53 students. In the national preliminary, four teams from CUEB made the top 11. Afterwards, through the online display of the team’s videos, two teams from CUEB were qualified to the top 6 in the final in North China Region. One team was Spotlight, which was made up by Jiang Shuyao, Zhang Xinyue, Wang Suyuan and Wang Jun, students of the Class of 2020 from the School of Accounting and Shi Huihan of the Class of 2020 from the School of Overseas Chinese. The other team, Show Me the Digits consisted of Ma Qinqin, Wang Xin, Li Jiahuan, and Zhang Yingying, students of the Class of 2020 from the School of Accounting, and Wu Chengjun of the Class of 2020 from the School of Public Finance and Taxation.
The theme of the competition was “Where is the destination for the emerging Internet cars?”. All the teams must demonstrate their ideas in English with a comprehensive analysis of the case company and the entire Internet car industry, and formulate corresponding management strategies to elaborate the team’s integrated results.
This year marks the 8th anniversary of the IMA Campus Management Accounting Case Competition since it was first held in China Universities in 2009. It aimed to help undergraduates to understand the business environment, and to improve business thinking and enhance professional competitiveness. It also allowed undergraduates to have an opportunity to fully enhance professional awareness and business knowledge.
