On April 1, CUEB held 2020 Employment and Entrepreneurship Work Summary and 2021 Employment and Entrepreneurship Work Promotion Meeting in the lecture hall of Boxue Building. Party Secretary Han Xianzhou, President Fu Zhifeng, Vice President Ding Lihong and Wang Yonggui, Secretary of Discipline Inspection Committee Chen Caiqun, and Xing Qi, member of CUEB Party Standing Committee and Director of United Front Work Department attended this meeting. Sun Haozhe, Vice President of CUEB, presided over the meeting.
Han Xianzhou noted that the year of 2020 was extraordinary in the history of People’s Republic of China. In face of the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 and severe and complicated international situation, employment of college graduates was under greater pressure and challenges than before. He thanked staffs and students for their efforts and dedication to the work of employment and entrepreneurship and put forward three requirements for accomplishing work on Class 2021. Firstly, CUEB needs to strengthen employment guidance and service for graduates. It is necessary to understand the importance of work on graduates’ employment and entrepreneurship and continuously optimize employment guidance and service with an attitude of facing changes unseen in a century. Secondly, CUEB should conduct more detailed employment work. This means that follow-up survey of employment and annual analysis of employment data should be made to have the information play its role. Thirdly, focus needs to be paid on the research into ideology and employment view changes of those “post-95s” and “post-00s” students. Then, in such a well-directed context, CUEB can further implement practical and effective employment measures.
Fu Zhifeng pointed out that as employment rate and quality are important indicators for talent cultivation quality, CUEB should strengthen its awareness of employment and entrepreneurship issues. He also confirmed CUEB’s efforts and achievements in graduate employments over the years and stressed the importance of raising employment quality of the graduates on the basis of high employment rate. In addition, Fu Zhifeng conveyed relevant requirements of the “Four Prohibitions” on employment work ordered by Ministry of Education, in the hope that leaders of all CUEB departments and secondary schools can strictly manage and supervise employment work in person while prioritizing the employment of graduates and strengthening employment service and guidance to achieve successful employment of the 2021 Graduates.
Wang Jinbao, Minister of Student Affairs Department of the Party committee, analyzed the employment of 2021 graduates in an all-round way and proposed to promote the employment work of CUEB from four aspects: in-depth implementation of leaders’ management of employment and entrepreneurship, employment market expansion, innovation and entrepreneurship education, and targeted employment guidance. Jiang Beibei, Deputy Minister of Student Affairs Department of the Party committee, summarized the employment and entrepreneurship work of 2020 and introduced in detail graduates’ employment from four aspects including organization type, industry type, regional distribution, and key organizations. She further analyzed specific factors that influence the employment quality of CUEB’s graduates before putting forward corresponding measures to achieve higher quality employment. On behalf of respective advanced departments and themselves, President of Overseas Chinese College Li Baixing, Vice President of School of Public Finance and Taxation Wang Jingda, and head teacher of School of Economics Fu Lei shared their experience. Chi Yingjun, graduate of School of Economics, and He Qi, graduate of School of Culture and Communication, shared their experience of applying for a job.
