On March 29, Ke Wenjin, Director of CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference) Economic Committee, and his delegation came to CUEB to investigate the “Two Zones” construction. Yao Dongxu, Director General of Scientific Research Office, Liu Xuexin, Dean of the College of Business Administration, Fan Hejun, Deputy Director of Scientific Research Office and Ye Tanglin, Executive Vice President of the Research Institute for Economic and Social Development of Mega-cities attended the meeting. Ke Wenjin pointed out that guided by the strategic plan of Beijing government，we will make every effort to promote “Two Zones” construction and drive the high-quality development of Beijing Economy this year. Focusing on the "Two Zones", we should take the Pilot Free Trade Zone as a starting point, organically integrate the Pilot Free Trade Zone with the national comprehensive demonstration zone for expanding opening-up in the service sector based on the support of relevant policies of the central government, so as to achieve the result of “one plus one is greater than two”（the result is much better than expected). He emphasized that the foothold lies in the free trade zone. He said that Beijing Pilot Free Trade Zone is different from other zones, such as Shanghai and Hainan Pilot Free Trade Zones. We can learn the experience of other zones and give full play to Beijing scientific and technological innovation, so as to advance the development of Beijing Pilot free trade zone. Meanwhile, he also showed that the superimposed benefits reflected in the "Two Zones", which can help Beijing Pilot Free Trade Zone gain greater advantages over other areas in China in terms of openness, development space and fields.

Ke emphasized that the priority of this survey is to analyze the problem, and then take problem-solving as the guidance to find solutions in extensive communication with the outside world, He called for teachers of CUEB to actively participate in this program, and apply the research into practice to serve Beijing.

Yao Xudong showed that CUEB highly focused on “Serving Beijing, Serving Society”, and will actively cooperate with Beijing CPPCC in this research. Both sides had a discussion on how to implement the construction of "Two Zones". Everyone believed that in the construction, we should give full play to the strengths of research institutions in universities, learn and work together, and serve Beijing better.

In recent years, the College of Business Administration of CUEB has been strengthening scientific research to serve the national strategies. “Two Zones” construction is an important opening policy, supported by the central government. It is a great opportunity and grim challenge for Beijing. The construction of “Two Zones” is essential for national development strategies and industrial upgrading and transformation of Beijing. The College of Business Administration will coordinate with related research in CUEB to serve as the think tank for “Two Zones” construction.
