On April 27, according to the training plan for young teachers, the Personnel Office and the Teachers’ Work Department held a special report on education of Party’s history for young teachers in No.7 Conference Room on the fifth floor of Bona Building. Prof. Liu Zhifeng, Deputy Director of the Teaching and Research Department of the Party’s History and Party’s Construction of Beijing Administration Institute, was invited as the speaker for this report. Before the report, Xu Fang, Deputy Party Secretary of CUEB, deeply exchanged with Liu Zhifeng on education activities of Party’s history in CUEB. The report was presided over by Shang Xiaohui, Director of the Personnel Office and the Teachers’ Work Department, with more than 100 young teachers and some Party members of CUEB Administrative Offices participated in the report.

At the meeting, Liu Zhifeng, with the title of “The struggling history and basic experience of the Communist Party of China”, guided all participating teachers to review the magnificently struggling history of the CPC in the past century around three themes: the basic context and experience of the century-old Party’s history, and the struggling of the Party in the period of democratic revolution. Moreover, he summarized the great achievements made by the CPC and the valuable experience gained in its struggle. While outlining the process of Party’s development, Liu focused on key historical events, helping the participating teachers understand the different stages of Party’s history. For the period of the New Democratic Revolution (1921-1949), from three aspects of the founding of the CPC, the Army and the New China, he described in detail the important historical events, policies and strategies adopted by the CPC at each stage from birth to maturity. And then in the third part, Liu answered why the Chinese revolution succeed and summed up the basic historical experience scored by the CPC in a centenary struggle.

Shang Xiaohui expressed his gratitude to Prof. Liu Zhifeng and summarized the important content and spirit of this wonderful report. He hoped that the participating teachers would further improve their political standing, have a deeper understanding of the significance of keeping rational, trustworthy, moral and practical in learning Party’s history and called on teachers to applying what they have learned about the Party’s history into their teaching, integrating into the ideological and political construction of the curriculum. At the same time, teachers should promote in-depth development of “Three Aspects Education”, namely, the integrity of all staff, whole process and all-around education, and shoulder the fundamental task of fostering character and civic virtue, so as to promote the development of CUEB with a more vigorous spirit.

The education of Party’s history is an integral part of orientation training for young teachers in CUEB. The Personnel Office and the Teachers’ Work Department organized practical activities on the education of Party’s history in the centralized training last year. This semester, they will organize special reports and practice sharing activities according to the training plan, striving to do a good job in training young teachers in richer forms and more effective ways, and build a team of excellent teachers with ideal faith, moral character, solid knowledge, and benevolent heart, so that we can cultivate talents for the Party and the country and truly fulfill the fundamental task of fostering character and civic virtue.
