On March 25-27, the Annual Meeting of the China Development Forum (CDF) 2023, organized by the Development Research Center of the State Council and hosted by the China Development Research Foundation, was held at the Beijing Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, with the theme of "Economic Recovery: Opportunities and Cooperation". President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the Forum. Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council, met with overseas delegates and had a workshop. Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony, read out Xi's congratulatory letter, and delivered a keynote speech. Yin Li, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, and Qin Gang, State Councilor and Foreign Minister, attended the forum and delivered speeches respectively. CUEB has provided volunteer services for the forum for six consecutive years. This year, CUEB once again sent 29 volunteers including teachers and students, led by Xiao Xiao, head of the Volunteer Affairs Office of the CUEB Youth League Committee, to participate in the volunteer services work of the Forum. And they successfully completed all the work with high-standard and high-quality services, achieving another high-level performance of CUEB volunteers in the national platform!
CUEB Youth League Committee attached great importance to this volunteer work. Before departure, Li Xiaoou, Secretary of the Youth League committee, delivered a mobilization speech. She emphasized that all volunteers were elites selected by the schools to accomplish the challenging but glorious task, so they should cherish this opportunity to integrate their learning with practice, and demonstrate their dedication to serving the capital with great responsibility The leading teacher Xiao Xiao put forward specific requirements in terms of agenda, discipline, dress and demeanor, pointing out that all volunteers should follow the requirements, fulfill their duties, and provide quality volunteer services for all guests with firm political awareness and comprehensive abilities.
On the afternoon of March 24, Qiao Zhengyang, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Development Research Foundation and alumnus of the 1985 class, along with the staff of the security group conducted a pre-service training for the volunteers, introducing in detail the distribution and routes of each venue of the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse and the access rights of different kinds of credentials. The forum lasted for three days, and our volunteers were assigned to six branch venues, responsible for personnel guidance, credentials verification, meeting agenda consultation and venue decoration, and other services. During the forum, due to the heavy tasks, complicated posts, and long overall periods, volunteers woke up at six in the morning to gather and returned to the encampment in the early morning, and the average daily standing service duration exceeded 12 hours. Despite the challenges, volunteers approached their tasks with sincerity, patience, carefulness, and consideration. Some volunteers also helped foreign guests to solve their problems with fluent English, fully demonstrating the strong comprehensive quality and high spirit of CUEBers. Their excellent service won highly praise from the organizers, participants, and the China Development Research Foundation.
It is reported that the China Development Forum is the first large-scale international forum at national level every year after the “Two Sessions” (the National People's Congress and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference), and it received great attention from all over the world.
