CUEB Vice President Chen Yanbin Meets with Delegation from University of East Anglia

On the afternoon of April 11, Vice President Chen Yanbin, member of CUEB Standing Committee, met with the delegation from the University of East Anglia (UEA) in the Boyuan Building. The delegation included Paul Dobson, Interim Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Bao Chenming, Chief Strategic Advisor, Tim Hubbard, Head of East Asia Recruitment and Partnerships and Song Yanjing from the UEA China Development Office. Both sides exchanged ideas to strengthen cooperation.

Chen extended a warm welcome to Paul Dobson and his team, recalling that President Wu Weixing and David Maguire, Vice-Chancellor and President of UEA, met in this same building last year. The two presidents advocated for the establishment of a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship. Chen emphasized the active implementation of this initiative by both universities, aiming to advance in-depth cooperation. Chen also mentioned that both universities have unique qualities and advantages that complement each other in terms of disciplines and professions. He expressed anticipation for expanded collaboration between the two universities in areas such as economics, management, and media. He highlighted the importance of promoting inter-university and personnel exchanges, envisioning reciprocal outcomes.


Paul Dobson expressed gratitude to CUEB for the warm welcome. He highlighted the extensive opportunities for cooperation between the two universities in fields such as economics, management, computer science, and big data. He hoped that the two universities would consolidate their relationship, forge new avenues of cooperation, and strengthen joint efforts in teacher training, academics, and research.


Present at the meeting were Liu Wenchuan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges and Dean of the School of International Education, and Wei Huaying, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges.

Founded in 1963, the University of East Anglia (UEA) is located in Norwich, Eastern England. As a public research-intensive institution, it holds a prestigious position among the top 30 universities in the UK.
