In the morning of September 22, CUEB convened the proposal defense meeting for Research on the Design and Effectiveness of Carbon Information Disclosure System for Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality, which is a major project funded by the National Social Science. More than 30 guests attended it, including Wang Wenju, Professor and Secretary of the Party Committee, Huang Qunhui, leader of the Institute of Economics of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Li Zhijun, Director of Management World of Development Research Center of the State Council, together with Wang Zhaohua, Dean of School of Management and Economics of Beijing Institute of Technology, Fan Ying, Dean of School of Economics and Management of Beihang University and Dong Zhanfeng, President of Policy Institute of Chinese Academy of Environmental Planning. In addition, Professor Zeng Shihong from School of Economics and Management of Beijing University of Technology, Professor Yan Yunfeng, Wang Dadi and Sun Zhongjuan from CUEB showed their attendance as well. Zhu Lin, executive of CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) Capital Markets Office based in China, was also invited, together with team members.

Prof. Wang Wenju thanked and welcomed all the scholars on behalf CUEB, congratulated Prof. Liu Xuexin on obtaining the approval of this major project by National Social Science Fund (NSSF), and fully acknowledged the achievements by the research team in the early stage. Wang also said that CUEB will provide all-round support for the team and ensure the implementation of major projects, so as to play a leading role in ESG for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.

The defense experts group consisted of five experts, namely, Huang Qunhui, Li Zhijun, Wang Zhaohua, Fan Ying and Dong Zhanfeng, with Huang Qunhui as the leader to preside over the meeting. Dr. Kong Xiaoxu, the representative of the research team, reported the content and plan of the project. Targeting that, experts discussed the research framework, focuses, difficulties and the research map. They all acknowledged the theoretical and practical significance of the project, along with the completed work and future plans. At last, the chief expert Liu Xuexin made a statement that he would seriously evaluate these opinions and suggestions, and refine the project for more fruitful achievements. With strong backing of CUEB leaders and experts, this proposal defense meeting was brought to a successful close.
