Delegation of Thailand Assumption University Visits CUEB
Yang Shizhong extended warm welcome to the delegation and briefly introduced CUEB and its cooperation achievements with Southeast Asian universities. Yang said that CUEB signed the “1+3”Education Alliance Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Puer University, Honghe University and Baoshan University, the three “gateway universities” on April 2016. It has also stepped up the overseas student educational cooperation with ASEAN countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Burma and Laos to establish Belt and Road Initiative educational cooperation platform. In the context of Belt and Road Initiative, Assumption University of Thailand and CUEB had broad prospects of cooperation and CUEB sincerely invited Assumption University of Thailand to join the“1+3”Education Alliance Strategic Cooperation Agreement. The two universities can take advantage of the two schools’ prominent disciplines to strengthen cooperation in research, faculty building and the communication between students, and launch undergraduate and undergradaute-gradaute programs to promote the educational communication between China and Thailand for win-win cooperation.
Prof.Soonthorn Pibulcharoensit thanked CUEB for its hospitality and introduced the history, scale and internationalization of Assumption University of Thailand in detail. He pointed out that the two schools are similar in the scale and subject structure,highly complementary in prominent disciplines. Assumption University of Thailand had over 1000 Chinese students and had built a sound all-English double degree cooperation platform with universities in Britain, Australia and America. He was looking forward to joining hands with CUEB to launch joint education program for high-level talents with special characteristics.
After the meeting, the delegates visited the Museum of University History, accompanied by Yang Shizhong.
