CUEB Delegation Visits Five Universities in Southeast Asia
From March 26th to April 2nd, CUEB delegation visited five universities in Laos, Thailand and Malaysia in a bid to strengthen communication and cooperation with universities in the Belt and Road areas. The visit is an important step in implementing the Belt and Road Education Promotion Plan proposed by the Ministry of Education and it echoes the national Belt and Road initiative and “Four Cores” of Beijing development overall plan.
The delegation visited the Ministry of Education and the National University of Laos. Saykhong Saynasine, director general of the Higher Education Department of Laos Ministry of Education, gave a detailed introduction of the higher education in Laos and listened to the delegation's intention to build a training base of CUEB “Belt and Road” ASEAN talents in business and trade. He said that the ministry supported the joint education for business professionals, academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation between local universities and CUEB, and he looked forward to visiting CUEB at an appropriate time.
Afterwards, the delegation visited the National University of Laos. The two sides exchanged ideas and reached a preliminary consensus on the collaborative establishment of the training base of "Belt and Road" ASEAN talents in business and trade.
In Thailand, the delegation visited the Assumption University of Thailand and the Panyapiwat Institute of Management. At the Assumption University, the two sides signed a MOU on intercollegiate cooperation. The delegation then paid a visit to the Panyapiwat Institute of Management.
The next stop was Malaysia, where the delegation visited the University of Malaya and Sunway University. At the University of Malaya, the two sides reached a preliminary consensus on the cooperation in economics, business management, finance and other high-level professionals training, academic exchanges and scientific research; the two sides will sign a MOU on cooperation in the near future.
