2017 Beijing Cultural Innovation Seminar Held in CUEB
On November 4th, 2017 Seminar on Beijing Cultural Innovation, co-hosted by CUEB School of Culture and Communication, School of Foreign Studies and School of International Education, kicked off in Beijing. Theme of the seminar is Cultural Innovation and Communication against the backdrop of the Belt & Road Initiative. The seminar covered such an array of topics as “the Belt & Road and Cultural Communication”, “the Belt & Road and Education and Teaching Methods for Foreign Students” as well as “the Belt & Road and Foreign Languages Education and Teaching Methods”. Participants also held discussions on “the Belt & Road and Training of International Professionals” along with “the Belt and Road and Urban Cultural Development and Innovation”.
The seminar was divided into two sessions. As one of the signature activities in academics, Seminar on Urban Development and Cultural Innovation in Beijing, which has been successfully held in six consecutive years, has a new name in 2017: Seminar on Beijing Cultural Innovation. Every year, the seminar puts forward themes and topics relevant to social demands on the basis of the most recent developments of our society. Meanwhile, many an expert from the government, enterprises, universities or colleges, and research institutions are invited to attend the academic research conferences. Based on the research of hosting schools and departments, attendees share their insights from different perspectives, like, cultural development & innovation, and cultural communication & exchange. The seminar takes place every autumn, and it is an occasion for academic sharing and exchanges. It is a feast for active minds. This year’s seminar started with three CUEB schools soliciting keynote papers in the summer and concluded with experts actively engaged in discussions in the fall. Above all, faculties and students broadened their horizons, expanded their minds, and improved their academic capabilities regarding subject research and research awareness through the forum.
