Confucius Institute Co-founded by CUEB and CSU Holds Spring Festival Celebration
On February 24th, the Confucius Institute jointly established by Cleveland State University (CSU) and CUEB held the Spring Festival celebration in the auditorium. Strong support from the office of Marcia L. Fudge, the US congressman, the office of Frank C. Jackson, the Cleveland mayor, the West Lake Chinese School, the Great Wall Chinese School and other institutions was given to the celebration. Zhu Jianping, Executive Vice President of CSU and Director of the Confucius Institute, Xu Yan and Zhang Xuhong, US and Chinese Directors of the Confucius Institute, and Ni Lingju, Chairman of the Chinese Cultural Park Association attended the celebration. The 19 performances of the celebration were award-winning performances on the literature and art contestheld on December 2nd last year. The celebration lasted for two hours.

The celebration was wonderful and attracted people from all walks of life, among which more than a half were local community residents. After the celebration, when asked about which performance they like, some spectators said martial arts and some said dance. While more spectators said: "It's hard to choose a favorite one, because each one was wonderful!" and "The whole performance was quite a surprise!"
The Confucius Institute of CSU jointly established by CSU and CUEB went into operation in 2009, and a good relationship has been established between the two sides during the process. Especially in 2016 and 2017, CUEB attached great importance to the establishment of the Confucius Institute, and held several meetings with CSU on how to build the Confucius Institute and then, to deepen the cooperation between the two universities, and reached consensus on many cooperation programs.
