On Nov. 17th, Pres. and Prof. Fu Zhifeng met with Dr. Robert D.Ebel, senior guest researcher of Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Georgia State University, in Beijing Commercial Business Hotel. Dr. Ebel came to CUEB to attend Seminar on Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations in New Era & Book Launch: The Oxford Handbook of State and Local Government Finance (Chinese Version).

Pres. Fu extended a sincere welcome to Dr. Ebel’s attendance to the seminar jointly held by Economic and Science Press and CUEB. Fu also expressed his warm congratulations on the publication of Oxford Handbooks edited by Dr. Ebel in China. Fu briefly introduced the situation of CUEB, as well as efforts and achievements of the Chinese government in promoting economic and social development and enhancing environmental governance.

Fu expressed his admiration to Dr. Ebel for his accomplishment in the study of intergovernmental fiscal relations, which has won him global influence. Fu also hoped that Dr. Ebel could help CUEB bring its public finance discipline up to international standards with his insights and influence in the international public finance academia.

Dr. Ebel expressed thanks to the warm reception by CUEB and said he looks forward to strengthening the cooperation with the School of Public Finance and Taxation.

After the meeting, Fu Zhifeng and Dr. Ebel attended Seminar on Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations in New Era & Book Launch: The Oxford Handbook of State and Local Government Finance (Chinese Version). On the ceremony, Fu, on behalf of CUEB, accepted the Chinese version of Oxford Handbooks presented by Economic and Science Press.
