On October 7th, the opening ceremony of the CUEB History Museum was held in Boyuan Building to celebrate the 60th anniversary of CUEB.

The museum is located in the west wing of the first floor, Boyuan Building. The calligraphy of “history exhibition” in Chinese on the plaque was inscribed by Professor Ren Fushan, who is already 101 years old. Professor Ren was one of the founders of Labor Economics Major, and he was also the former dean of the Department of Labor Economics. Vice President Xu Fang introduced the museum, “our exhibition hall covers an area of 400 square meters, and it was designed under the guidance of ‘cultivating people by introducing the history of CUEB to them’. We have also adhered to the principle of ‘based on truth, emphasizing the characteristics, highlighting the theme, respecting history’. The museum is divided into two halls: history hall and achievement hall. More than 800 pictures and 400 physical objects are being displayed. There are also 6 multimedia interactions and 2 reconstructions of original scenes.”

Xu also introduced to us that the history hall is divided into four parts according to different historical periods, and the theme of it is “Hand in Hand, Marching Forward”, representing our school has gained fruitful achievements in cultivating talents during the past sixty years. The achievement hall consists of 11 parts and the theme of it is “the brilliant six decades”. It shows the educational experience, achievements, and competitive strength we have gained during the past six decades especially after the combination of Beijing College of Economics and Beijing Institute of Finance and Trade in 1995. The overall design is based on CUEB’s historical evolution, school-running achievements and features. The museum include both graphic and physical exhibits, traditional methods of display and multimedia, as well as several reconstructions of the original historical scenes...
