Delegation Headed by Yu Yingjie Visits CUEB
On the morning of May 10, Yu Yingjie, member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Education Working Committee (BMEWC), along with Li Junfeng, Deputy Secretary in charge of the daily work of BMEWC, and Zhang Yaotian, member of BMEUC and Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission (BMEC) visited CUEB. Wang Wenju, Secretary of the Party Committee of CUEB, and Wu Weixing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of CUEB, participated in the visit.
Secretary Yu Yingjie and his team first came to the Boyuan Building to visit the historical hall and the development exhibition in the School History Museum. They had a comprehensive understanding of CUEB’s history, educational positioning, Party building and ideological and political work, disciplines and specialties, personnel team, international exchange and cooperation, etc. They also received an overview of CUEB’s achievements in supporting national strategies and contributing to the development of the capital in the new era. He also praised the school’s achievements in personnel cultivation, academic research, and serving the economic and social development.
On the second floor of the library, Secretary Yu and his team inspected the National Undergraduate Program for Innovation and Entrepreneurship—“Reading Fun”. They received a comprehensive briefing on CUEB’s employment efforts, gaining insights into the employment situation, the overall scale, and the initiatives and strategies made by CUEB to promote high-quality employment for the Class of 2024. He stressed that efforts should be made to provide more employment services for graduates, implement policies to promote their employment, thus striving to guarantee high-quality employment for graduates.
On the third floor, Secretary Yu and his team inspected the construction of CUEB’s “Digital School of Marxism Studies”. They learned about the rich teaching resources for ideological and political education and the construction of sharing platforms. They also observed a collective preparation of instruction by teachers from the School of Marxism Studies onXi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and had a detailed understanding of CUEB’s reforms in ideological and political teaching, the construction of the Beijing key School of Marxism Studies, and the application for doctoral programs. He encouraged teachers to take on the leading roles of the School of Marxism Studies in understanding students’ cognitive patterns and learning tendencies, and promoting the integration of ideological and political education with societal dynamics. They are also supposed to make clear the historic achievements made by the Communist Party of China and the country in the new era, so as to make ideological and political education more targeted and effective.
During the discussion, Wang Wenju and Wu Weixing reported on achievements made in CUEB’s Party building, leading the school towards high-quality development. They expressed their sincere thanks to BMEC and BMEWC for the enduring care, guidance, and support. They said that CUEB will move faster towards China’s first-class and world-renowned university of finance and economics with distinctive features. CUEB will strive to achieve new breakthroughs by contributing more wisdom and strength to building China and Beijing into robust educational hubs.
Yu Yingjie gave his full recognition for the recent achievements made by CUEB and put forward three suggestions as follows:
Firstly, we need to take prioritize the enhancement of the Party’s political building as the overarching principle and integrate Party building into the entire process of school administrations, knowledge dissemination and personnel cultivation. This approach will add more substance to Party discipline leaning and education. In this way, we strive to lead the high-quality development of CUEB with high-quality Party building.
Secondly, we will focus on the national strategic needs and the development needs of the capital in the new era. Specifically, CUEB needs to coordinate excellent resources, focus on key areas, and strengthen research and think tank construction to produce high-level research and think tank contributions, thus offering more solutions to the high-quality development of the capital.
Thirdly, we will make coordinated efforts to enhance development and security, securing all responsibilities are fulfilled at all levels. CUEB should prioritize all kinds of security, such as political security and fire prevention, and firmly safeguard the bottom line of campus security.
He stated that BMEC and BMEWC will persist in supporting the development of CUEB and expected CUEB to aim high and accelerate its journey towards domestically premier and globally renowned university of finance and economics with distinctive features.
