CUEB Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Mentougou District
On the afternoon of April 2, CUEB signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement (hereafter the Agreement) with the People’s Government of Mentougou District, followed by a symposium. Among the notable attendees were CUEB Party Secretary Wang Wenju, Deputy Party Secretary and President Wu Weixing, Deputy Party Secretary Meng Bo, along with Yin Zhichao and Chen Yanbin, members of the Party Standing Committee and Vice President of CUEB. Also present were Yu Huafeng, Secretary of the Mentougou District Party Committee, Cao Ziyang, member of the CPC Mentougou District Committee and Vice Chief Director, and Chen Junsheng, Vice Chief Director.
Wang Wenju highly affirmed the industrial structure and resource allocation within the District. He emphasized the reciprocal nature of cooperation between CUEB and the District, highlighting the utilization of research achievements in areas such as financial technology and the digital economy. Furthermore, he emphasized the District’s experience in building a cluster of specialized industries in the western part of Beijing. Wang emphasized the importance of integrating theory and practice to further enhance collaboration between CUEB and local industries. Wang expressed anticipation for both sides to leverage the Agreement to fully explore their strengths, strengthen communication and coordination, and establish a comprehensive and normalized cooperative relationship. The aim is to advance collaborative efforts between the two sides to new heights.

Yu Huafeng expressed gratitude to CUEB for its ongoing support of the District, recognizing the university’s pivotal role in promoting the transformation and development of the District. He affirmed that the signing of the Agreement marks the dawn of a new chapter in the cooperation between CUEB and the District. Currently, the District is vigorously implementing the development strategy of “ecological priority, cultural prosperity, and technological strength”. As a result, the two parties need to engage in closer cooperation in areas such as science and technology finance, cultural tourism industry, and personnel cultivation. Yu stated the District’s readiness to provide internship opportunities and innovation and entrepreneurship support to the faculty and students of CUEB. In reciprocation, CUEB is poised to offer personnel support for the District’s transition to green, high-quality transition and development, thereby jointly fostering a symbiotic relationship characterized by mutual benefit and collaborative innovation.
Cao Ziyang extended a warm welcome to the delegation from CUEB, giving an overview of the District’s topography, ecology, and industrial transformation. To build Beijing into a global benchmark city for the digital economy, he pointed out that the District is leveraging its geographic advantage to prioritize the three major industries of artificial intelligence, healthcare, and digital audio-visual, aimed at utilizing technology as a catalyst for the transformation and upgrading of traditional sectors. Besides, he highlighted the cooperation between the District and CUEB in strengthening new productive forces. He hoped that both sides would pool their development efforts, and contribute to the development of the country and the capital.
Cao Ziyang and Yin Zhichao signed the “Strategic Cooperation Agreement between Mentougou District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and Capital University of Economics and Business”. The Agreement outlines cooperation in areas such as cadre and personnel training, think tank construction, decision consultation, science and technology cultivation, research application, and education development. Both sides will also explore the possibility of jointly establishing a research institute to promote the high-quality development of both the District and CUEB.
During the meeting, the participants engaged in extensive and in-depth discussions regarding areas of cooperation. Attendees also comprised representatives within CUEB, including the Office of Party and Governance Affairs, Office of Research, the External Relations and Cooperation Office, and the School of Finance, as well as officials from the Bureau of Technology and Information, Education Working Committee, Education Committee, Zhongguancun Mentougou Park Management Committee, and Investment Promotion Center of Mentougou District.
