On April 23rd, the delegation of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly) visited CUEB. The two universities held discussion on summer exchange program and mid-long term exchange program.

Zhu Anbo, Dean of the School of Foreign Studies, met the delegation of Cal Poly and expressed warm welcome. Afterwards, Zhu introduced the basic information of the School of Foreign Studies including subjects, disciplines and international exchanges, and expressed his hope to cooperate with Cal Poly in a more substantial and subject-specific way.

Huang Liwei, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, introduced CUEB and highlighted the achievements and endeavor it has made in international exchange and cooperation. An in-depth discussion on cooperation and exchange program was then conducted between the two sides.

Guo Yuanyuan, Assistant Dean of the School of Culture and Communication, Chen Wenying, Assistant Dean of the School of Safety and Environmental Engineering, communicated with Dr. Douglas Epperson, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, and Dr. James Meagher, Dean of College of Engineering. After introduction of their schools, majors and disciplines, the two sides conducted discussions about receiving the summer exchange group from Cal Poly and the later summer exchange workshop, as well as exchanged their views on language learning, cultural identity, tuition fees and curriculum coordination of the exchange students.

In the end, the two sides shared their observations on long-term exchange programs and agreed to deepen cooperation through implementing semester-long and academic-year exchange programs , and joint programs.

Among the delegation of Cal Poly were also Dr. Caroline Vanderkar, Director of International Center, Dr. Beth Merritt Miller, Assistant Vice Provost for University Advising, Erica Jorgenson,   Study Abroad Coordinator, and Zhang Ning, visiting scholar of Cal Poly at Peking University.
