CUEB Athletes Make Great Achievements in 56th Capital University Sports Meeting

On May 13th, the 56th Capital University track meet closed in People's Public Security University of China. Nearly 2,000 student athletes from 72 colleges and universities of the city competed fiercely in 159 events in this game, which was the largest and highest-caliber student sports event in Beijing. This time, CUEB sent 10 athletes and won 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal, as well as 2 fourth prizes and 1 fifth prize. After four and a half days, CUEB made top 6 in the women's team.

In the competition, Qiu Na, a student from the School of Statistics took the crown in the Women's B Group 100-meter Final with the score of 13.30 seconds. In the Women's B Group 200-meter Final, she played steadily and won the championship with a huge lead. In the Women's B Group Javelin Final, Shan Danni, a student from the School of Accounting threw her personal best of 36.6 meters adding another gold medal for CUEB. In the Women's Group B Long Jump Final, Zhang Peng, a student from the School of Economics, won a silver medal.

 

 

It was worth mentioning that this was the third time for Qiu Na and Shan Danni to win the golden medals in personal events including Women's B Group 100-meter, 200-meter and Javelin Competition in Beijing, making CUEB the winner in these three events for three consecutive years. Wang Yue, a student from the Overseas Chinese College, won the fifth prize in the Women's 400-meter Final with 1:08.33.

Wang Sixuan, a student from the Overseas Chinese College ranked fourth in the Women's B group Jump Final with a score of 1.44 meters. Unfortunately, A relay team which was made up by Zhang Peng, Wang Tonghe (from the School of Economics), Wang Yue and Qiu Na also ranked the fourth with only 0.03 second behind in the Women's B Group 4*100-meters Relay Race.
