On October 19th, the first China Think Tank Development & Evaluation Summit Forum, sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Evaluation Studies (CASSES), co-organized by China’s Economic Trends Research Institute of the Economic Daily Press, was held at CASS.At the forum, the results of China Think Tank Awards were announced. Difficulties and Countermeasures of China's Real Estate Tax Legislation, a research report of Beijing Philosophy and Social Science National Taxation Law Research Base (CUEB, hereinafter referred to as Base), was awarded “National Policy Prize” of China Think Tank Advice Solicitation. Prof. Cao Jingtao, Director of the Base, attended the forum and received the award on behalf of the Base.

In February, this year, CASSES and China’s Economic Trends Research Institute of the Economic Daily Press jointly launched 2018 evaluation of Prize of China Think Tank Advice Solicitation, Academic Achievement Prize of China Think Tank, Prize of China Think Tank Innovation Talents. After rigorous review, 478 applications met the requirements, and 157 applications entered the final review by the expert panel. Among them, 47 were shortlisted for the Prize of China Think Tank Advice Solicitation, and 16 were finally awarded. The Base submitted the research report Difficulties and Countermeasures of China's Real Estate Tax Legislation, and won the National Policy Prize.

Difficulties and Countermeasures of China's Real Estate Tax Legislation is the result of years’ of research by Prof. Hao Ruyu and Prof. Cao Jingtao, chief experts of the Base. In December 2017, the Base submitted the report to the central government and received important instructions. The result of this selection is an acknowledgement of the research fruits, playing a significant role in furthering the Base’s research and boosting its profile.
