On November 26th, Beijing Municipal Education Commission posted the results of 2018 Beijing College Students Music Festival Instrument Competition. The orchestra and the traditional Chinese instrument group from CUEB Student Art Troupe participated in competition of five categories, including polyphonic music playing, strings ensemble, wind-wood quintet, etc. After the intense competition, the CUEB orchestra won a gold medal and two silver medals, and the traditional Chinese instrument group was awarded a silver medal and a bronze medal. The gold medal that the orchestra got is a historic breakthrough.

Beijing College Students Music Festival is the most inclusive student art festival of the highest standard for students of universities in Beijing. The 2018 Festival, hosted by the Education Work Committee of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Beijing Municipal Education Commission, is an all-year-round activity on the theme of “Pursuing Beauty in High-spirited Youth.” At the end of the performance, the review committee listed 44 gold medals, 56 silver medals, 23 bronze medals and 1 memorial prize for instrument performances at municipal level.
