Press Conference on 2018 Q4 ‘CCI of Chinese Mainland, Taiwan, HK and Macao’ Held in CUEB

On January 9th, 2019, the press conference on Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) of Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao in the forth quarter of 2018 was held in our university. The survey and compilation of the indexes were jointly carried out by universities from the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, including the Capital University of Economics and Business, Central University of Finance and Economics, City University of Hong Kong, Macau University of Science and Technology, and Taipei Medical University. The conference was co-sponsored by the five universities and hosted by CUEB. Yang Kaizhong, Vice-president of CUEB, attended the conference, which was presided over by Ruan Jing, Vice Dean of the Post Graduate School of CUEB.

 

In his speech, Yang Kaizhong looked back on the evolution of the CCI of Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, which was followed by an analysis of the socio-economic implications of China’s economic record over the past 10 years and changing international economic climate for CCI. As Yang Kaizhong stated, our university will continue to support the work on CCI of Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, so as to objectively and fairly show Chinese people’s confidence in all aspects to the world.

Zhang Baoxue, Dean of the School of Statistics of CUEB, released the CCI of Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. Dr. Liu Miao from the Central University of Finance and Economics made a report on technical aspects of the index survey. Dr. Ren Tao from the School of Statistics of CUEB, Dr. Cao Guohui from the City University of Hong Kong, Dr. Liu Chengkun from the Macau University of Science and Technology, Dr. Xie Bangyan from the Taipei Medical University analyzed the CCI in the forth quarter of 2018, respectively of the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

 

Afterwards, Dr. Wu Huishan from the School of Statistics of CUEB released 2018 Beijing Social and Economic Life Index.

Journalists from China News Service, China Radio International, Radio Television Hong Kong, Sanlih E-Television Inc, Takungpao.com.hk, China Education Daily, www.rmzxb.com, and www.qianlong.com attended the conference. Huang Liwei, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office of CUEB attended the conference.
