On Jan. 4th, an opening ceremony was held in the Culture & Art Exhibition Center in Zhangjiawan Town, Tongzhou District, Beijing, celebrating the foundation of the social practice base for international students. The base was co-established by Zhangjiawan and the School of International Education of CUEB, Wang Wei, Vice Director of the Organization Department of Tongzhou Party Committee, Qi Lili, Director of the Organization Department and Member of Zhangjiawan Party Committee, and Wang Shaoguo, Dean of the CUEB School of International Education, attended the ceremony, which was presided over by Qi Lili.

In the beginning, Qi highlighted the planning and construction of Zhangjiawan Town. Then, Wang Wei pointed out in her speech the necessity of attracting more international talents to build Beijing’s sub-center. She also hoped the social practice base, jointly established by the town and CUEB, can serve as a platform to carry forward traditional Chinese culture and draw more international talents.

He Li, Party Secretary of the School of International Education Branch, introduced the development of its international education, the number of foreign students and their education programs at CUEB. In addition, He Li noted that building the social practice base together with Zhangjiawan is an important move to help foreign students learn more about Chinese culture, as well as cultivate international students who know China and love China. 

Afterwards, Qi Lili and Wang Shaoguo inaugurated the social practice base for CUEB foreign students. After the ceremony, Wang Shaoguo and other staff attended the meeting, followed by a visit to related departments and enterprises.

Also present at the activity were Zhu Hong, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, representatives of teachers, business representatives of the industrial park in Zhangjiawan and representatives of traditional culture artists.
