According to the Social Organization Evaluation Management Measures by Ministry of Civil Affairs of the PRC, the evaluation of social organizations is classified into five grades from grade 5A (AAAAA), the top grade, to 1A (A), the lowest grade. The evaluation result, valid for five years, serves as a certificate of good standing when it cooperates with other organizations and publicizes itself. Organizations of 3 A and beyond have priority over the transfer of government function, government purchase services, and governmental reward; Organizations of 4 A and beyond are allowed to be annually inspected in simplified procedures.

In the 2018 Beijing Municipal Social Organization Evaluation, CUEB alumni association was awarded as Grade 4A, as is published by Beijing Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau on March 3rd. 323 other social organizations participated the selection. This is the second time that CUEB alumni association has been evaluated since 2013, when it firstly got a Grade 3A.

In 2018, Beijing Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau entrusted specialized agency to evaluate 323 municipal social organizations on five aspects including basic condition, internal governance, performance, social evaluation (social contribution and social influence) and integrity construction (social obligation and integrity construction). As a result, 321 of the organizations got on the list, including 48 social organizations with 5A, 115 with 4A, 138 with 3A, 16 with 2A, and 4 with 1A, approved by Beijing Municipal Social Organization Evaluation and Review Committee.

On December 26th, 2018, the CUEB alumni association was inspected and assessed on site by the third-party evaluator. The association impressed the experts for its creative working methods and pragmatic attitude. The expert group gave recognition to the CUEB Alumni Association on its performance, internal governance, financial management and Party building.
