“Two Sessions Moments” of CUEB Prof. Guo Yuanyuan as CPPCC National Committee Member

This is the second time for Prof. Guo, Deputy President of School of Culture and Communication of CUEB, to attend the “Two Sessions” , as member of the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC. As a teacher and researcher, she put forward proposals on economy, society and culture, giving full play to her professional strengths and inspirations from her work life.

In total, Prof. Guo prepared seven proposals. In terms of education, she stressed the importance of improving professional quality, upgrading education level and suggested that talent cultivation should fit in local development. As for media capacity, she said civil servants and cadres are supposed to improve their media literacy. When it comes to culture, she said we should collect and spread quality popular short videos and live on the internet in a bid to boost Chinese develop better. In strengthening well-rounded education, she proposed that libraries should be a door to help people become more well-educated.

“This year, proposals submitted by members of the National Committee of the CPPCC are required to be more practical, for which they have to do grass-roots researches before writing proposals”, said Guo, “this actually encourages every member to work more carefully so that they can better perform their duties.
When asked about the feelings of attending the sessions, Guo said, members are more active than ever before. Everyone is eager to speak, and their suggestions are more workable.
In her speech, she said the real cultural confidence comes from a good culture and people’s belief. She assumed that in order to make everyone a qualified culture representative, there should be a wonderful social environment, which needs to be cultivated as well as restricted. It is necessary to increase people’s awareness of public rules and the cost of irregularities. In the meantime, public civilization training needs to be carried out and individual credit dossiers be set up. Besides, she submitted another speech named Concentrate on Your Work with Stable, Correct, and Detailed Measures.
Guo also said she would make full use of this opportunity, keep down-to-earth and do as much as she could do. She will be worthy of the trust of the school, CPPCC and the era, sparing no effort to participate in the discussion of state affairs.
