Lian Huan Takes Home First Prize in 10th Beijing University Teachers’ Basic Skills Competition on Ideological & Political Theory Course

On April 26th, the 10th Beijing University Teachers’ Basic Skills Competition on Ideological & Political Theory Course, hosted by the Education Work Committee of Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC and organized by the School of Marxism of Beihang University wrapped up. Lian Huan, teacher from the CUEB School of Marxism Studies, took home the first prize in the competition.


According to the Notice on 10th Beijing University Teachers’ Basic Skills Competition on Ideological & Political Theory Course issued by the Education Work Committee of Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC, six Research Associations of Beijing Universities ideological and political education organized preliminary contests of six kinds in early April, namely, the Introduction to the Basic Principle of Marxism, the Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, the Compendium of Chinese Modern and Contemporary History, Ideological and Moral Education & Fundamentals  of Law, Ideological and Political Theory Education for Graduates and Situation & Policy. Competitors’ rankings and prizes were made known in the preliminary contest, in which Lian Huan was awarded the second prize in the course of Ideological and Moral Education & Fundamentals of Law before making her way into the final.   


On April 26th, the final kicked off in Beihang University with 45 teachers from universities in Beijing. By drawing lot, the competitors got their own number and were divided into two groups. The competition took place simultaneously in the two groups. The teachers were expected to present the teaching process of a certain issue in the textbook within the limited time. Afterwards, the judges, consisting of famous experts, teachers of ideological and political education and students, would grade the competitors on site based on their performance including their teaching plan and presentation. Eventually, the prizes, including the first prize (10%), the second prize (20%) and the third prize (30%), were presented to participators. CUEB teacher Lian Huan won the first prize in the tight competition.


As a teacher from the School of Marxism Studies, Lian Huan, together with her achievement in the competition, provided a glimpse into the charm and intelligence of the teachers devoted to ideological and political theory education, exemplifying CUEB’s effort in developing and reforming the ideological and political theory courses. The School of Marxism Studies will take this opportunity to promote the teaching ability, continuously working for a more desirable teaching effect.
