Three CUEB Disciplines Proposed to be ‘High-caliber Disciplines in Beijing
On May 9th, the list of “High-caliber Disciplines of Beijing’s Universities” was announced by Beijing Municipal Education Commission. 99 disciplines of 53 universities in Beijing were proposed to be included in the list, among which 28 are co-constructed. Three disciplines from CUEB, namely, Statistics, Applied Economics (co-constructed), and Business Management (co-constructed) were in the list.
As reported, the program aims to select and construct high-qualified disciplines among universities in Beijing. Two to three periods will be taken to upgrade the discipline structure and deepen inter-discipline integration. The superior disciplines and new inter-disciplines leading the country and the world under this program will fuel the implementation of the “Four Centers” strategy to make Beijing a world-class livable city.
In recent years, CUEB has made big progress in structural adjustment of disciplines and majors as well as classification of schools and disciplines. Through these efforts, CUEB has taken its place among the excellent universities meeting the classification standards in scientific research, student training, and construction of disciplines and teaching staff. The university will continue to strengthen the basis for development in a bid to reach new high in all affairs. More solid measures will be taken in reforming the institution, polishing the character and advantages, and enriching its culture. The efforts to become a first-class university at home and well-renowned at abroad have picked up pace. That is how we contribute more to the “Four Centers” strategy of Beijing.
