CUEB Organizes Teachers and Students to Watch Live Video of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC)
On October 1st, a grand gathering to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and a military parade and mass pageantry was held in Tian’anmen Square. The Office of Student Affairs organized teachers and students to watch the live video in Academic Report Hall of Boxue Building.
The parade is the largest in recent years. Teachers and students saw the first-class weapons, excellent training results and sound spirits of the troops. Thus, everyone was proud of the military elegance and heroic style of the people's army. The following mass pageantry made them feel more about the warm atmosphere of “Jointly Building the Chinese Dream.”
As the host introduced the 33rd formation, teachers and students were eager to see the 34th formation themed as “Staying True to Our Founding Mission.” When the players full of vitality walked in vigorous strides appearing in the screen, students exploded with joy and stared at the screen to find their teachers and classmates. Everyone was deeply impressed by the orderly and magnificent 34th formation with overwhelming excitement and rapturous applause.
The military parade and mass pageantry for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC elicited a positive response. Yan Li, a counselor of the School of Accounting, said that the military parade showed not only our military strength, but also a thriving China! From 1949 to 2019, from material deprivation to a well-off society in an all-round way, it was the result of continuous struggle of numerous Chinese people. She was extremely proud of these great achievements. Walking on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, our pace is neat and firm, and we are moving forward and riding the waves.
Song Fei, a counselor of the School of Finance, said, “Beijing is immersed in a celebration atmosphere these days, and I have been waiting for today’s celebrations for a long time.” When she truly saw the entire military parade and mass pageantry, her thrill lasted for a long time. During the seventy years, China has witnessed tremendous changes. This event demonstrated China’s prosperity and people’s happiness and pride. As a counselor, Song said she would stay true to our original aspiration and shoulder our missions by fostering virtue through education and cultivating qualified builders and reliable successors for the motherland.
Su Tong, a student of the College of Urban Economics and Public Administration, said that the 70th National Day military parade ceremony showed concerted efforts of generations in China and demonstrated our army’s revolutionization, modernization and standardization in a new era. She was proud of being a Chinese.
Zou Mengzhao, a student of the School of Foreign Studies, said that she witnessed the military power, national prestige and prosperity in the live video. In the course of 70 years, our country has experienced hardships, but gained fruits. Therefore, she was proud of the strength of our motherland. Meanwhile, as college students, we should shoulder new missions and pioneer in the new era.
After the end of the live video, teachers and students have said that in the new era, we need to stay true to our original aspiration and shoulder our missions, comprehensively implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and strive to realize the Chinese dream of great national rejuvenation.
