CUEB Initiates “Law Lectures of Hump”
On October 11th, Law Lectures of Hump(“Hump” represents CUEB, whose logo is a camel.) , the series of high-level academic lectures on law organized by the School of Law were initiated in Room 406 of Bouyuan Building. Liu Jianwen, a Yangtze River Scholar Distinguished Professor, delivered the first speech named as The Goals and Paths of Finance and Taxation Construction for a New Era. Before the lecture, an appointment ceremony was held and President Fu Zhifeng issued a letter of appointment for Liu Jianwen.
The appointment ceremony was presided over by Zhang Shijun, Director of the School of Law. Zhang briefed the basic information of Professor Liu Jianwen to teachers and students. Later, President Fu Zhifeng issued a letter of appointment for Liu Jianwen. Then, Professor Liu said that he fully affirmed the construction of the legal subject of CUEB and put forward some advice on subject orientation and planning.
The academic lecture was hosted by Gao Guilin, professor of the School of Law. Liu Jianwen analyzed the important strategic significance of the construction of fiscal, taxation and law, and pointed out the basic position and direction of these constructions. He also provided some suggestions to vigorously implement law-based taxation, protect taxpayer’s rights and improve dispute resolution mechanism in finance and tax. After the lecture, teachers and students of the School of Law and Liu Jianwen had a hot discussion on legal construction of the fiscal and taxation systems in China.
Law Lecture of Hump is one of the important measures for the School of Law to promote first-class professional construction, create a diverse academic ecology and enhance its comprehensive competitiveness. The academic lectures, named as school emblem “hump” showed that the School of Law had attached great importance to its ideological and political construction and culture construction and demonstrated the resolution to scale a new height and the determination to reform.
