President Fu Zhifeng Meets Delegation from University of Minnesota

On January 7th, Fu Zhifeng, President of CUEB, met with Ms. Joan Brzezinski, Executive Director of the China Center at the University of Minnesota, and Ms. Fran Liu, Director of the China Office in Boyuan Building. The two sides exchanged views on the promotion of inter-school cooperation.

Fu Zhifeng welcomed Brzezinski's visit and gave a brief introduction to CUEB, including the school ranking, the recruitment of students, students’ intention for foreign study and other aspects. He said that CUEB attaches great importance to international development and cooperation with overseas universities, and hopes that the two sides can establish cooperation and exchange programs in the areas of joint training of talents, exchanges of teachers and cooperation in scientific research.

 

Brzezinski gave a brief introduction to University of Minnesota, including the school's overview, preponderant subjects, international exchanges and overseas students. She said that the University of Minnesota is a comprehensive university, with more than 100 majors, more than 20 colleges, strong faculty and rich teaching resources. At the same time, the University of Minnesota also attaches great importance to the development of internationalization, and welcomes the students from CUEB to study at the University of Minnesota.

 

And then, Shang Xiaohui, Director General of Human Resources Office, Jiang Hong, Deputy Director of Scientific Research Office, Zhao Jiazhang, Vice President of School of Economics, and Lei Jing, Director of Students Program in International Academic and Research affairs gave a brief introduction to the students' exchanges, teachers' visiting, scientific research cooperation, as well as the basic situation of School of Economics and international cooperation and exchanges. Ms. Joan Brzezinski and Ms. Fran Liu gave a brief introduction to the University of Minnesota programs on student exchanges, teacher visits and scientific research cooperation, and the two sides have reached an initial cooperation intention, and would have in-depth discussion of MOU (memorandum of cooperation) signing in the following exchanges.
