CUEB Leaders Conduct Discussions about the 14th Five-Year Plan

On the afternoon of November 5th, CUEB held the fourth consultation symposium about the 14th Five-Year Plan in the Conference Room No.7, Bona Building. Heads of related functional departments put forward opinions and suggestions. President Fu Zhifeng attended the symposium and Vice President Ding Lihong presided over the symposium.

At the symposium, heads of related functional departments provided constructive suggestions and opinions on the CUEB development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. They focused on the disciplines and profession construction, talents training, scientific research and social services, the adjustment and optimization of school space, the allocation and sharing of school resources, and the improvement of public service systems, providing constructive and valuable opinions.

 

Ding Lihong stated CUEB need to strengthen top-level design and forward-looking layout with the combination of the reality, among which the major task of CUEB is to support the development of Beijing, so as to implement the educational reform requirements of Beijing’s classified education and the building of high-level research universities. Meanwhile, it is necessary to deeply analyze the relationship between the “Changing and Unchanging” of the school development. In the case of limited resources such as personnel, finance and property, CUEB should pay more attention to sophisticated management and effective allocation of resources,in a bid to provide solid support for the school’s strategic goals.

Fu Zhifeng conducted in-depth discussions with the heads of various functional departments around the current difficulties and bottlenecks encountered in the development, and reached a consensus with the participants on the overall development ideas during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Fu Zhifeng emphasized that teaching and research are the core work of the school, and the satisfaction and sense of fulfillment of faculty are important standards for testing school work. Therefore, the school’s various resources and school space should be allocated and optimized around teaching and research and serving teachers and students, so as to create a fantastic environment for study, work and living. Only in this way can the school achieve greater progress during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

Wu Qifu, Director of Development Planning Division, Zhu Ningjie and Fan Yanying Deputy Directors of Development Planning Division, and other members of Development Planning Division also attended the symposium.
