On the afternoon of March 16th, CUEB held a regular meeting for student work in the spring semester. Vice President Sun Haozhe was present and delivered a speech. The meeting was presided over by Wang Jinbao, head of the Student Affairs Department.

In his speech, Sun Haozhe pointed out that CUEB should improve work structure and system mechanism, while preparing for worst-case scenarios with definite working plans. He also put forward expectations for student work in education, service, and management. First, in terms of student education, it is necessary to build a long-term mechanism for students’ ideological and political education, so as to fully foster character and civic virtue. Second, for student service, CUEB shall make good use of service platform as a starting point to fully meet the needs of students in their growth and accomplishment. Third, for student management, CUEB should give priority to scientific, standardized and systematic work to enhance the regular management mechanism of students and modernize the university management system. In addition, he also made requirements for strengthening students’ ideological guidance in all respects and taking firm steps in COVID-19 vaccination.

At the meeting, Zhou Mingsheng, Director of the Division of Graduate Student Affairs, introduced basic ideas of ideological and political work on graduate students. Emphasis should be placed on enhancing graduates’ ideology in academic and scientific research and on education in mental health and social practice. Li Xiaoou, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, and Cai Bin, Deputy Director of the Division of Graduate Student Affairs, introduced key work of the Communist Youth League and the Division of Graduate Student Affairs in this semester, including activities to commemorate the 100^th anniversary of the founding of the CPC Party, ideological and political education, construction of learning atmosphere, and club activities. Zhang Yanhua, Party Secretary of the School Infirmary, made specific arrangements on voluntary blood donation.

Wang Jinbao once again mobilized and deployed the work of COVID-19 vaccination and conveyed requirements from superior departments. He proposed to erect a Great Wall of Disease Control, carrying out in-depth publicity and mobilization to ensure a higher immune barrier for CUEB and students. In terms of work deployment in this semester, Wang proposed to comprehensively strengthen the regular ideological and political education for CUEB students from platform construction, team consolidation, system improvement and education activities of social practice. In light of the employment this year, he emphasized that leaders in charge of graduates’ employment should manage and supervise this work in person. Also, CUEB should target at key links, breakthroughs and weaknesses in employment to ensure high-quality development of graduates’ employment.

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee (the general Party branch), Secretary of the sub branch of Youth League Committee and full-time Counselors in charge of student affairs in all secondary schools, together with all cadres of the Graduate School, the Division of Graduate Student Affairs, and Youth League Committee of CUEB, attended the meeting.

Currently, in a special period of epidemic prevention and control, CUEB has been improving anti-epidemic institutions of examination in accordance with the requirements from superior departments. Work has been done to strengthen examination management and disciplines to ensure smooth examination. Directors of relevant departments, such as the Party and Government Office, the Security Office, the Academic Affairs Office, the Office of Logistics Services, the Operational Assets Management Committee Office, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Office, and School Infirmary, participated in the investigation.
