Apartment Adjustment for 1,500 CUEBers Completed
On July 2, CUEB started to adjust part of students’ apartment in order to optimize the allocation of campus dormitory and better manage student apartments, according to the housing needs and changes in the proportion of students in the future.
To minimize the impact on students’ study and life and provide better service, the Student Affairs Department of the Party committee designed a detailed moving plan with related departments, such as the Office of Logistics Services, Publicity Department of CUEB Party Committee, Security Department, Division of Graduate Student Affairs and the Property Management Department. The plan is based on the basic principles of minimum moving, phased implementing, and high-quality service Then the Student Affairs Department organized three meetings to clarify tasks for related departments, coordinate personnel well in order to ensure careful and steady work.
In the whole process, related departments as well as deputy secretary and counselor of every secondary school came to student apartments to motivate students to adjust their apartments and guide the moving. During the whole process, leaders of all secondary schools expected students to help and cooperate with one other and enhance teamwork spirit. Student members of the CPC, cadres and volunteers also cooperated with others to provide service to guarantee the moving. Enduring the hot weather and being busy with the preparation at the end of the semester, all students overcame difficulties and cooperated with others to ensure the adjustment going well. The students participating in the adjustment said that cooperating with others could improve the efficiency and deepen their friendship.
All departments coordinated perfectly. As it was difficult for girls to carry heavy bags, the Property Management Department offered high-quality service to coordinate the moving on the scene. They cooperated with moving companies many times to handle more than 6,000 pieces of luggage, dismantle and transport 1,000 pieces of furniture within two weeks. The Office of Logistics Services cleaned empty rooms immediately for other students to move in soon.
By July 13, more than 1,500 CUEBers have completed dormitory adjustment. The moving in order and safeguards in place without any loss of property or other problem won highly praises from the students. This is the first phase of apartment adjustment and the second one for more than 800 students shall be in September.
