On September 8th, the beginning of the new semester, CUEB Party Secretary Han Xianzhou gave the introductory lesson to Xi Jinping’s thinking on the rule of law to students from the School of Law. This course aims to further implement Xi Jinping’s law-related thinking and the guiding principles of the Central Work Conference on Comprehensively Implementing Law-based Governance and to promote Xi’s thinking into teaching materials, classrooms and the mind of students.
Han Xianzhou lectured on Xi’s thinking from three aspects, including its historical background, content and learning methods. He stressed that the Introduction is an important course for Law majors, theoretical learning and political and ideological education. Xi's law-based thinking must be studied under the overarching strategic context of the Chinese nation’s great rejuvenation and major changes unseen in a century and carried out in depth on the basis of the great achievement of China's reform and development. Then, Han expounded on the main content of Xi Jinping's thinking on the rule of law from the course of development, position, function and its theoretical system. Finally, he put forward three suggestions to help students to learn the thought. First, we need to follow its latest content with deep thinking by combining it with reality in a systematically way; second, we should focus on its stance, viewpoints and mentality; and third, we should learn from President Xi himself. As up-to-date cases cited in the lecture were explained in a clear way, students listened and took notes carefully and expected the following study.
Under the strong leadership of CUEB Party Committee, the School of Law prepared to assemble teachers to form a specific teaching group. On the afternoon of September 8th, the team designed the lesson together and further discussed teaching content and methods, key and difficult points, curriculum arrangement and the mode of evaluation. The following classes are planned to be taught by professional teachers in different themes. The teaching team of the School of Law consists of 13 teachers, including Party Secretary of the School of Law, Mi Xinli, President of the School of Law, Zhang Shijun, as well as Beijing’s famous teachers Li Xiaoan and Xie Haixia. Tao Ying, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, participated in and guided the course preparation.
It is reported that after the release of Announcement on Integrating Xi Jinping’s Thinking on the Rule of Law into the Law-theory Teaching System among Universities made by Ministry of Education, the School of Law arranged to have the Teaching Guidance Committee meet in time after the latest edition of talent training scheme was finalized. The conference aimed to carry out the spirit of the notice and specify the type of course, credit, class hour, teacher, teaching material, mode of examination and other important course elements through in-depth research on China University of Political Science and Law and other universities inside and outside Beijing, so as to timely incorporate "the Introduction to Xi Jinping’s Thinking on the Rule of Law" into the new talent training program.
