A few days ago, CUEB received two letters of thanks from the voluntary service group of the CIFTIS (China International Fair for Trade in Services) executive committee, in which the excellent performance of CUEB volunteers in preparation for CIFTIS and voluntary services in the financial sector were commended. Also, the two letters expressed sincere gratitude to CUEB’s engagement in CIFITS.

The letters mentioned:

“Cai Qi, the member of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of Beijing Municipal Party Committee, praised volunteers as ‘a beautiful addition’ at CIFTIS.”

“We extend heartfelt gratitude and lofty respect to the dedicated support of CUEB in organizing voluntary service, guaranteeing the campus canteen supply, practicing epidemic prevention and control and to the hard work of voluntary group in the charge of Teacher Xiao Xiao.”

“Xue Jiamin, an MTI (Master of Translation and Interpreting) student, also contributed many hours and actively engaged herself in a series of work at the voluntary service group of the CIFTIS executive committee, such as taking part in volunteer recruitment and training, and coordinating and getting in touch with volunteers, as well as organizing and managing voluntary personnel.”Her contribution to the success of CIFTIS in 2021 was fully recognized by the voluntary service group of CIFTIS.”

China International Fair for Trade in Services in 2021 (CIFTIS) was successfully held from September 3 to 7 in Beijing. CUEB sent 42 volunteers to serve 4 posts and 5 booths in all, with their total voluntary activity adding up to 1,600 hours.

Volunteers, before taking up their jobs, received systematic online training, which covered 6 areas, including an overview of the history of CPC (1921-2021), related knowledge and skills about COVID-19 prevention and control, the basic situation of CIFTIS 2021, reception services training, emergency aid and other relevant training.

During this activity, CUEB volunteers served in the financial service booth and Shangri-La’s conference center and other essential parts of CIFTIS, offering voluntary services to the guests, such as guidance, information inquiry, nucleic acid test and emergency aid. The volunteers’ work was considered excellent.

Regardless of heavy rain and scorching sun, CUEB volunteers always fulfill their duties without any complaints. They presented the youth of CUEB volunteers with great enthusiasm and professionalism, enabling themselves to become a shining and valuable addition to CIFTIS.
