In recent days, the 2022 “Challenge Cup” Entrepreneurship Plan Competition for Beijing College Students came to a successful close. CUEB representative teams won 1 gold, 15 silvers and 25 bronzes, including 3 silvers and 3 bronzes for the main competitions; 1 gold, 12 silvers and 22 bronzes for the special competitions. The Youth League Committee of CUEB launched the “Challenge Cup” Entrepreneurship Plan Tryout in CUEB in October 2021 to cherry-pick excellent projects to participate in the “Challenge Cup” at the municipal level and fully display the students’ achievements in innovation, entrepreneurship and social practice. All colleges were engaged in promoting and organizing the tryout, releasing an introduction post on WeChat so as to ensure most students to get any information about this competition immediately. As such, more than 400 teams and over 2,000 bachelors, master and doctoral candidates were mobilized to participate in the preliminary competition.
To get projects started, the Youth League Committee of CUEB cooperated with all colleges to organize a number of lectures for competition introduction, topic selection guidance and plan writing, improving students’ innovation and entrepreneurship capability. To evaluate projects from the Tryout in CUEB, an expert team consisting of some senior experts in the innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and enterprise investors was invited to evaluate all the works, selected five top ones to compete at the municipal level, and gave their valuable suggestions for polish.
Before oral defense, these five teams received one-to-one advice from the Youth League Committee of CUEB, who helped them to figure out the logic of their projects, optimize materials for road show again and write defense scripts. In addition, a road show simulation was held the day before the official defense to help these students get familiar with the process and test the equipment. In the final defense, each team member with a sense of calm and a tacit understanding fully showed the competence and spirit of CUEBers.
