Ministry of Education Approves Comparative Studies on Chinese and Foreign Textbooks of Higher Education by Professor Wang Yonggui’s Team from College of Business Administration
Recently, the Ministry of Education released the list of “Comparative Studies on Chinese and Foreign Textbooks of Higher Education in 2022” and the project, “the Comparative Studies on Chinese and Foreign Textbooks of Business Administration Core Curriculums”, led by Professor Wang Yonggui was approved. This project is jointly declared by experts from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Tsinghua University, Huaqiao University and University of International Business and Economics. This comparative study aims at laying ground for the construction of undergraduate textbooks for general higher education in the 14th Five-Year Plan period, in a bid to improve the quality of textbooks with foreign textbook resources reserved in the Foreign Teaching Materials Center of China Education Ministry and follow the global trend to draw on their advanced experience. The approval declared by Professor Wang’s team demonstrated great progress in educational reform about textbook construction in the College of Business Administration.
In recent years, with a strong sense of mission and passion in teaching, Professor Wang and his team keep in line with the cutting-edge research to lead the marketing and other majors relevant to business administration toward high quality development. Awarded 14 honorary titles at national and provincial level, he won 6 prizes in teaching and 5 projects in educational reform at provincial level and above. Of over 20 high quality textbooks he compiled and translated, 4 are selected as teaching material for the Five-Year Plan by Ministry of Education, 5 as high quality textbooks in Beijing and 1 was awarded the first national excellent textbook in higher education. He was successively awarded the outstanding achievement 4 times in Beijing Philosophy and Social Sciences, including special awards, 3 times in institutions of high education research held by the Ministry of Education, including the first prize in humanities and social sciences. Recently, the project “Virtual Teaching and Research Office” led by Professor Wang was approved by the Ministry of Education as one of the first batch of pilot projects in virtual teaching and research office construction. The first relevant forum was just successfully rounded up by East China University of Science and Technology, with over 7000 attendants.
Striding forward, the College of Business Administration in CUEB will proactively support Professor Wang Yonggui and his team. To foster virtue through education and to pass down experience from the senior to the young, we will forge a featured teacher development system with more young staff in reserve and develop a bunch of first-class undergraduate majors.
