Recently, according to the Notice on the List of 2021 National and Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Majors released by the General Office of the Ministry of Education [Letter from Higher Education Office (2022) No. 14], 7 undergraduate majors recommended by CUEB were approved to be of national first-class: Economic Statistics, Insurance, Business English, Safety Engineering, Labor Relations, Administrative Management and E-commerce. 5 undergraduate majors were approved as first-class in Beijing: Investment Science, French, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Computer Science and Technology, and Land Resources Management.

Up to now, 25 out of 38 undergraduate majors in CUEB were approved as national first-class, involving more than 80% of our students and 14 as first-class undergraduate majors in Beijing; 4 as key first-class majors in Beijing. Totally, CUEB's first-class undergraduate majors account for 90% of all undergraduate majors.

Since the Ministry of Education launched “Double Ten Thousand Program” in 2019, a program aiming to build 10,000 national and provincial first-class undergraduate disciplines respectively, we have continuously made efforts in cultivating more qualified undergraduates and building higher-level undergraduate specialty. According to the Notice of Implementing “Double Ten Thousand Program” for the Construction of First-Class Undergraduate Majors issued by the General Office of the Ministry of Education [Letter from Higher Education Office (2019) No. 18], CUEB made a top-level design about this program, and carried it out in an comprehensive way. The Academic Affairs Office conducted a deep investigation and a systematic analysis about this program. All schools actively submitted applications and made a full preparation. With all these efforts, we have made great achievements in cultivating, building and applying for first-class undergraduate majors.
