On September 21, the 2nd Outreach Session of the 5th Committee was convened by CUEB Labor Union at the Cultural Activity Center, attended by Xu Fang, CUEB Deputy Party Secretary and Chairperson of CUEB Labor Union, and held by Jiang Wei, Executive Deputy Chairperson of CUEB Labor Union. 

Xu Fang made a summary to the 5h Session Assembly of new Labor Representatives and Teacher Representatives. Xu said that our work has been recognized by Beijing Tertiary Education Labor Union and CUEB. She expressed thanks to all cadres of Labor Union on behalf of CUEB and encouraged new cadres to follow the fine tradition and to keep going.  As Labor Union is home to all faculties, Xu hoped that every Branch Labor Union could work together to serve all faculties and exchange their experience in fostering virtues in education. What’s more, cadres of this Union could perform duties and explore new ways for the sake of our faculty’s happiness. Thus, this Union could reach a new level as a leading Municipal university. 

Representatives reviewed and deliberated the Labor Union Poverty Alleviation Procurement Plan in 2022 and approved the pandemic prevention measures.  Jiang Wei explained Labor Union’s key work for the second half year of 2022 on the Teacher Representative Congress’s plans, visits, training, cultural and sports festivals, home-building, assessment, basic skills competitions, mutual insurance, etc. She emphasized that we needed to optimize the approval process for Branch Unions’ activities and speed up the progress of union expenditure, etc.

After the session, the Labor Union’s cadres were trained about CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) by Labor Union and Faculty Swimming Club. Wang Changyou, Chairperson of Sports Labor Union, introduced the aim and significance of the training. Shu Xin, Beijing lifeguard training expert, and President of the Faculty Swimming Club, explained the CPR with demonstration, and then the cadres practiced in competition to learn the knowledge and skills better. All the cadres realized that CPR was important and necessary to homes, universities, and society. They all hoped that Labor Union could organize more activities like this, and share the content and skills to Branch Unions to benefit more members.
