On November 23, our school held online defense presentation of the Party “1+1” program (the communication and cooperation between the Party branches of school level and society level), and 14 student Party branches were involved. During the presentation, the participants exchanged their ideas about the significance of topics, the quality of activities, and the effectiveness of joint construction. After the defense, the internal review and the joint scoring of the judges, nine Party branches were awarded finally.

Arguably, it is important for us to integrate youth into the bigger picture of the new era. Since June 2022, the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee in CUEB has been active in promoting the Party “1+1” program and encouraging the Party members to give full play to their exemplary role as parts of efforts to study and implement the spirit of the 20^th CPC National Congress, advance the educational activity organized by Ministry of Education and Beijing Municipal Education Commission that is themed “Welcome the 20th National Congress and forge ahead on a new journey” and “Pledge to the Party to make our country strong”, respectively. These efforts also make for integrating ideological and political courses into social practice.

Since the launch of Party “1+1” program, more than 400 Party members from 14 Party branches had gone to rural areas, communities and units at all levels in Beijing. As a result, the Party branches of CUEB formed ties with Party branches at the primary level in these areas, such as Party branch of Zhangshanying Village, Shanying town, Yanqing district, Party branch of Beijing Internet Court 1st Comprehensive Division, Party branch of Public Affairs Department of Tencent, the 1st Community Party branch of Sanhuanxincheng Community, party branch of Malancun Village. Guided by the principles of learning the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, serving the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games, serving the construction of the Four Centers (namely, Beijing as national political center, cultural center, center for international exchanges, and center for scientific discovery and technological innovation) and rural revitalization, more than 70 joint activities were carried out, including learning the history of the Party, filming videos on improving legal awareness, visiting patriotic and educational bases, epidemic prevention and control, street governance, helping the disabled and the elderly, and language services. With professional advantages, the CUEBers devote themselves to the development at the primary level and make contributions to its’ construction, showing their sense of responsibilities and duties in the new era.

In the future, the Party Committee Student Affairs Department will continue to promote the Party “1+1” program and keep integrating ideological and political education into daily classroom teaching. Furthermore, it is also necessary to strengthen the foundation at the grassroots level and practice the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress with concerted actions. Ultimately, our goal is to cultivate a new generation of young people capable of shouldering the mission of national rejuvenation.
