Recently, the National Office for Philosophy and Social Science made public the list of major projects of the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC) in 2022. The project of Research on the Design and Effectiveness of Carbon Information Disclosure System for Goals of Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality, in the charge of Professor Liu Xuexin from College of Business Administration got approval. Totally, CUEB has now been granted 44 national projects in 2022.

Based on green economy and sustainable development, this project, taking a multi-disciplinary perspective of environmental economics, management and sociology, provides an overview of the practical development, standards comparison, theoretical foundation, index system, mechanism design, impact and other dimensions of carbon information disclosure (CID), in a bid to explore its theoretical and practical values. Theoretically, it aims to build a multi-tiered analysis framework and a standard system for carbon disclosure to provide theoretical foundation to the government and enterprises for their development. Practically, it will integrate CID with Chinese characteristics and pay full attention to the role of government, market and enterprise stakeholders, thus providing a top-level design and practical guidance for China to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
