CUEB Holds Report Meeting to Study Spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress
On the afternoon of December 28, CUEB invited Professor Hong Xianghua, Deputy Director of Research Department at Party School of the Central Committee of CPC to give a report on the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. In the guidance of CUEB Party Secretary, the report meeting aimed to further study, publicize, and implement the spirit, unify Party members, cadres, teachers, and students in ideology, and pool their strength on tasks set by the Congress. The meeting was chaired by Wu Hui, Deputy Party Secretary of CUEB.
Professor Hong Xianghua discussed three questions: “What is the 20th CPC National Congress? What are the achievements? How to study and implement its spirit?” First, he introduced the Congress and its significance in simple terms. Second, he reviewed and summarized key features of the Congress and the Report to it. The Congress drew the attention of millions of people and yielded fruitful outcomes with definite theme, tasks, and detailed content. Third, he interpreted the spirit in a comprehensive and systematic way, emphasizing that we should have an accurate and deep understanding of the following points put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping and firmly adhere to them: the significance of the work of the past five years and the great changes in the first decade of the new era, the worldview and methodology of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, missions and tasks of national rejuvenation through a Chinese path to modernization, the important requirement of using our own transformation to steer great social transformation, and the needs of our day to strive in unity.
Professor Hong Xianghua’s lecture, clear and focused, can serve as a guidance for our practice. It encourages us to systematically study the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, grasp the theme of the Congress, and understand its essence.
Wu Hui remarked that the Congress is a meeting of great importance. It takes place at a critical time as the entire Party and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups embark on a new journey to build China into a modern socialist country in all respects and advance toward the Second Centenary Goal. The broad and profound Report builds on past achievements and has a comprehensive understanding of the future. With further study, we would understand it deeper and implement the spirit more actively and firmly. Our primary political task is to study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. She expected that cadres at CUEB could thoroughly understand the spirit and study the Chinese features and essential requirements of Chinese modernization. Cadres should thoroughly think about important thoughts, opinions, strategies, and measures on education, science and technology, and human resources put forward by the Congress and the goals put forward by the 13th Beijing Municipal Congress of the Communist Party of China in view of our own conditions, so as to hammer away at strengthening Party’s political construction in CUEB. Cadres need to foster virtue through education, act in line with original aspiration, serve the capital, and shoulder the missions to integrate CUEB’s development into capital development in the new era and deepen our function-based development and reform. With capital awareness, the best standard, and pioneering spirit, cadres should advance teaching, research, personnel training, and other central work to present Beijing features. Our work would reflect the results of our study and implementation of the spirit and advance high-quality development of our causes in an all-round way.
The lecture was held both online and offline. CUEB leadership, cadres at division level, Party Branch Secretaries at the basic level, and members from young cadre training class attended the lecture.
