Gai Liangzi from Sports Department of CUEB Wins Second Prize in Curriculum-based Ideological and Political Teaching Competition
On the morning of February 18, China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing held Curriculum-based Ideological and Political Teaching Competition of Physical Education Teacher Basic Skills of Capital Universities and Colleges & the 4th Speech Contest themed with PE Teacher: My Dream of Career. Altogether, 27 contestants from 92 capital universities and colleges participated in this final competition, and Teacher Gai Liangzi from Sports Department of CUEB won Second Prize.
Gai distinguished herself in several rounds of competitions, including the preliminary contest in CUEB, the intermediary contest in the 7th division of Beijing Collegiate Athletic Association (Note: Universities and colleges in Beijing are grouped into 9 divisions according to their locations, of which, CUEB belongs to the 7th one). In her speech titled Teachers Not Only Impart Knowledge but Also Serve as Models, Gai shared her experiences about how she started to learn aerobics and became a PE teacher. Gai constantly improved herself, and implemented the basic task of fostering virtue through education. Her speech focused on ideological and political education of physical education curriculum, sports spirit, and the role of physical education in fostering virtue through education. She showed great enthusiasm and determination to be a qualified teacher with firm ideals and beliefs, moral sentiments, solid knowledge and benevolence. Her excellent speech, sincere feelings, and solid professional skills depicted the original aspiration and founding mission, demonstrated excellent demeanor of young teachers, which amazed the judges and audience.
This competition is the first sports meeting of capital universities and colleges (Also called Universities and Colleges Sports Meeting), and it is also the first competition for teachers this year. Teachers and students in CUEB are expected to make new achievements in the spirit of struggle with cohort efforts.
