Youth gives rise to infinite hope, and young people are the creators of a bright future.

On the afternoon of May 4, CUEB held wrap-up ceremony and the exhibition themed “Studying the Spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and Following the Party to Set out on a New Journey” in Academic Report Hall of Boxue Building. The ceremony was to inspire and mobilize the young to promote the spirit of May Fourth Movement, showcase the vigorous image and the invaluable contribution of China's youth in the new era and reward outstanding groups and individuals of the Communist Youth League (CYL) in 2022. Han Xianzhou, CUEB Party Secretary, Zhao Guang, Director of Party Committee Organization Department, Fu Lin, Administrative Vice Minister of the Party Committee Publicity Department, Wang Jinbao, Minister of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, Zhang Jie, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School and Deputy Secretaries of the Party organizations in all schools attended the ceremony.

The ceremony started with the video “Reunion 2022” to review main work and highlights of CYL of CUEB, showcasing the vigorous image of CUEB League members.

Subsequently, the winning collective representatives and individuals at national-, Beijing-, and university-level in 2022 were awarded.

In the display section, Li Danfeng, winner of “The Stars of Self-improvement of Chinese College Students”, shared her inspiring story with plain words and passion. Winner of “The Best Volunteer Group of the Capital” and CUEB Volunteer Service Group dressed in blue vest recited the poem titled “Every Little Helps” vividly, demonstrating the image of forging ahead with enterprise and fortitude.

The Team “Talent”, who won National Bronze Award of the 13th Challenge Cup, delivered a speech titled “Challenges in the Challenge Cup”, describing the idea to create a new ecological model of career development for college students with mock interview as its core.

Excellent grassroots Youth League branch in Capital Colleges “Pioneer Cup” and Youth League branch of Class 2 of Administrative Management of the Class of 2023 from the College of Urban Economy and Public Administration performed a play titled “ Best Time to Strive” to mobilize youth in the new era to bear in mind expectations of General Secretary Xi Jinping and set up firm ideals to serve the country and people.

In the end, Han made a summary. On behalf of CUEB Party Committee, he extended warm congratulations to outstanding groups and individuals and greetings to League Cadres at all levels and League members who made contribution for CUEB development. Guided by the theme of the ceremony, Han emphasized the correlation between the Party’s work on youths and national rejuvenation, thus invigorating young people to shoulder historical responsibilities entrusted by the Party and the country.

Han proposed three requirements: First, we should help students study further, publicize and implement the spirit of the Congress and realize two goals of the country: Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035 and 2050 Goal (building China into a great modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious, and beautiful). Young people should find the correct direction and seize every minute, thus becoming active participants during the historical course. Second, we should understand the political nature of CYL and stick to the principle that “the League will act upon the Party’s call”. Studying and realizing Xi’s expectations for them, young people should strive to be good young people of the new era who have lofty ideals, dare to shoulder responsibilities, and work hard. Third, young people should undertake their mission to forge ahead on the new journey. As China aims to double GDP per capita in 2035, League members need to dedicate to building the country into a modern socialist country in all respects. In particular, young people should keep working hard, carry forward the fighting spirit and give up “lying flat” and “involution”, so as to become qualified, reliable builders and successors of the socialist cause.

Although the times keep changing, young people in China have been committed to the same mission.Guided by the principle that “the League flag always heads in the same direction with the Party flag”, CYL of CUEB will strengthen theoretical guidance for the young through various methods and lead them to steadfastly follow the Party and its guidance, aim high but stay grounded, and dare to think big, and take actions but make sure to be able to deliver. Therefore, as young people endeavor to develop the country, the Chinese nation, the Chinese people and mankind, their youth and vitality will bloom in full splendor.
