CUEB Signs Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with Miyun District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality
On November 8, CUEB and Miyun District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality signed a strategic cooperation agreement to advance the capital’s development, integrating the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC and the National Education Conference. Attendees included Wang Wenju, CUEB Party Secretary; Xu Fang, CUEB Deputy Party Secretary; Yin Zhichao, Yao Linxiu and Li Kunpeng; Vice Presidents of CUEB; Yu Weiguo, secretary of Miyun District Party Committee; Yu Haibo, Deputy Secretary of Miyun District Party Committee and Chief Director; Yu Jianhua, Deputy Secretary of Miyun District Party Committee; and Ji Rongwang, member of the Standing Committee of Miyun District Party Committee and Vice Chief Director. The symposium was presided over by Yu Haibo.
Wang Wenju expressed his gratitude to Miyun District for its ongoing support of CUEB. He introduced the university’s development goals and achievements, particularly in interdisciplinary studies and personnel cultivation. Wang noted that CUEB has produced notable research outcomes aligned with national strategies and the capital’s development in the new era. He hopes the strategic cooperation agreement serves as a foundation to leverage the university’s educational and research strengths to drive regional economic and social development in Miyun District. This will involve aligning intelligence and research outcomes and deepening the integration of industry, academia, and research. Wang emphasized that the two sides should focus on expanding university-local cooperation with an alignment and cooperation mechanism to give full play to their respective advantages in such areas as ecological advancement, rural revitalization, scientific research, personnel exchange, and collaborative education. He encouraged faculty and students to put theoretical knowledge into practice, thereby improving the teaching and R&D quality. Wang also stressed the importance of deepening exchanges to promote the transformation of cutting-edge fields like technology finance and digital economy to bolster a smart governance system for the mega city. This collaboration aims for greater practical results, enabling CUEB to better serve the local economic development.
On behalf of Miyun District Committee and Government, Yu Weiguo welcomed Wang Wenju and his team. He said that CUEB, a municipal high-level research university of Beijing with specialized disciplines, supported the development of Miyun District, especially in teaching, R&D, management and training, higher education admission, and employment. All of these have boosted the development of education work in Miyun District. He hoped to maintain a close tie with Miyun District, gather strength to deepen cooperation in management mechanism, thus making Miyun Campus of CUEB a regional educational hub. Additionally, Yu also highlighted the necessity of expanding university-local cooperation, building an alignment platform, and strengthening high-level visits to set up a good example of university-local cooperation. Yu emphasized leveraging the “1+9+N” collaborative mechanism to connect all CUEB schools with towns and villages in Miyun, cultivating practical personnel, and aiding rural revitalization for mutual benefits. Yu looked forward to deepening cooperation in areas like ecological protection, air pollution control, Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality, rural revitalization, and research, aiming to maximize both parties’ strengths for high-quality integrated development. Yu pledged Miyun District’s full support for CUEB’s initiatives in Miyun, contributing to the development of the capital in the new era.
At the symposium, Xu Fang and Yin Zhichao shared their insights into future cooperation in ecological advancement, personnel cultivation, technology transformation, interdisciplinary integration and innovation, air pollution control, Institute for Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality cooperation, teaching practice base building and regional economic development, etc. All of these efforts are expected to be mutually beneficial and push for innovative development.
