On January 10, a report meeting on the construction of the cross-disciplinary platform for digital economy was held in Conference Room No.2 in Bona Building. Wu Weixing, Deputy Secretary of the CUEB Party Committee and President of CUEB attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Chen Yanbin, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of CUEB, presided over the meeting. Li Kunpeng, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Director of Office of Development and Planning, and Director of Discipline Construction Office, also attended the meeting.
Wu Weixing remarked that the cross-disciplinary construction of digital economy serves as a new growth point for disciplinary development. Therefore, he urged all teams to focus on digital economy and jointly promote the Beijing Institute of Digital Economy Development. In order to advance the construction in the next stage, he put forward the following requirements:
First, we need to coordinate the construction of the interdisciplinary platform for digital economy. Each team should clarify and explore their role and value in this construction.
Second, we need to promote database construction, encourage resource and data sharing, and provide enough incentives.
Third, we should organize high-level digital economy conferences and encourage young scholars to share their ideas, boosting the clout of the Institute of Digital Economy Development.
Fourth, we are supposed to actively serve the capital by establishing communication mechanisms with Beijing relevant ministries and agencies. We should not only produce high-quality research findings but also provide suggestions through briefings, special reports, and internal reference materials.
Chen Yanbin emphasized the significance of the platform construction on CUEB’s development, and offered further requirements. He stressed the importance of clarifying the institute’s stepwise development goals and closely following the path of digital economy research. This requires us to attend to both the research process and findings. In addition to producing high-level research findings, we should make efforts to promote undergraduate, master’s and doctoral successive education in digital economy to establish a high-end think tank.
Li Kunpeng introduced the construction of the Beijing Institute of Digital Economy Development, including its vision, positioning, teams, and management mechanism. The leaders of each team also presented the team composition and research interests.
Participants in the meeting included Du Wencui, Zhou Kaiguo, Ye Tanglin, Zhu Ningjie, Sun Zhongjuan and Zhao Daping.
