On the morning of December 27, CUEB Party committee held a regular meeting of Party secretaries at the school/department level. Wang Wenju, CUEB Party Secretary, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Xu Fang, Deputy Party Secretary, and Mao Baizhan, member of the Standing Committee of CUEB Party Committee and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission, attended the meeting too. Deputy Party Secretary Meng Bo presided over the meeting.

Wang Wenju, elaborated on the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 13th Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China. He urged all Party Organizations of Secondary Schools and units to carry out the spirit of the important speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Central Economic Work Conference and the symposium to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Mao Zedong. We should base next year’s work on reality, on the process of Chinese modernization, on the overall development of the Party and the country, and the development of the capital in the new era. He fully affirmed CUEB’s achievements this year and prepared for key tasks, such as campus safety and annual debriefing and assessment.

He put forward the following requirements for recent work:

·To appoint teachers and other professional staff in a fair and orderly manner.

·To pay performance-related salary with integrity, and enhance the faculty’s sense of fulfillment and happiness.

·To summarize experience and refine measures to organize the final examination.

·To pursue progress while maintaining stability, and promote stability through progress regarding reforms.

·To effectively coordinate resources and apply for PhD programs.

·To strengthen organized research and apply for projects.

·To attach importance to the new round of assessment on undergraduate education and make up for the limitations.

·To ensure safety during the New Year’s Day holiday and winter vacation, and enhance the safety and discipline awareness of Party members, teachers, and students.

·To pay more attention to graduate employment and improve employment quality.

·To care for retirees and organize activities to greet and support them.

Xu Fang put forward the requirements for relevant work:

• To advance ideological and cultural work, implement the center study group of the Party Committee theory and the “first topic” system, strictly implement the ideological responsibility system, and support the construction of secondary schools’ websites.

• To understand the importance and meet the requirements concerning the performance-related salary reform and fully motivate the faculty.

• To study, publicize and implement the spirit of the 5th Party Congress of CUEB, and perform well in key tasks, such as greeting retirees and appointing teachers.

Meng Bo introduced the overall arrangement of the annual debriefing and assessment, put forward requirements for the safety of CUEB, and emphasized the need to plan, work carefully, and dispose timely. He also urged to review the safety responsibility system, organize safety education, carry out safety inspection, and conduct a survey of the number of students staying in school during the winter vacation, so as to effectively implement responsibility, ensuring the safety of the campus, teachers and students.

Mao Baizhan stressed that Party members should strictly follow disciplines, carry out the spirit of the Eight-point Regulation of the Central Party Committee, further enhance the sense of responsibility, carry out the assessment on full and rigorous Party self-governance, and care for the groups in difficulty. He expressed the need to maintain unity and progress, and strive to develop CUEB to a new height under the strong leadership of CUEB Party committee.

Zhao Guang, members of Party Standing Committee and Director of the Party Committee Organization Department and United Front Work Division of the Party Committee, arranged issues related to the annual debriefing and assessment. Zhang Tong, Director of the Party and Government Office and Director of the Inspection Office of the Party Committee, arranged an assessment of full and rigorous Party self-governance and other work. Di Yanru, Deputy Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection of CUEB and Office Director, gave instructions from superiors on rectifying the pointless formalities, bureaucratism, hedonism, and extravagance during the New Year’s Day holiday and Spring Festival. Ma Xiaoning, Director of CUEB Party Committee Security Department, conveyed the spirit of the meeting on the security work in capital universities. Gao Fei, Deputy Director of Party Committee Publicity Department reported recent ideological work.

Heads of the Party organizations of secondary schools and the functional departments of CUEB Party Committees attended the meeting. The attendees watched the educational film on confidentiality.
