CUEB Holds Meeting on Employment
On the afternoon of June 13, CUEB convened a meeting to promote the employment for 2024 graduates, following the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping in the 14th collective study of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. President Wu Weixing, Vice Secretary of CUEB Party Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, with Li Kunpeng, Vice President and member of the Standing Committee of CUEB Party Committee, chairing the meeting.
President Wu acknowledged the university’s efforts in securing employment for 2024 graduates, expressing gratitude to those committed to this work. He emphasized that employment is a key indicator of the school’s education quality and stressed the need to raise political awareness to understand the national importance of this work. Wu noted the necessity of upholding the education standards and prioritizing students’ need, while balancing personnel supply and demand to improve training quality. Considering the current employment situation and school affairs, he outlined three requirements:
First, prioritize employment work: Employment is pivotal to people’s well-being, so all staff should participate actively, with college heads deploying targeted measures to build synergy in promoting employment.
Second, enhance training quality and students’ competence: Colleges should optimize disciplines and majors, and strengthen the personnel training to align with market needs, thus promoting the integration of industry and education.
Third, improve employment services: Special attention should be paid to graduates struggling to find jobs. Efforts should be made to provide meticulous guidance and ensure accurate employment information, thus laying a solid foundation for employment.
In his concluding remarks, Wu emphasized the urgency and high standards required for 2024 graduate employment, calling for colleges to shoulder responsibilities and develop innovative methods in joint efforts for quality employment.
In his summary, Li Kunpeng underscored two points: First, each college must seriously discuss and implement the work requirements, collaborating on strategies to promote employment. Second, proper methods should be considered to achieve employment goals at this critical stage.
