During the activity, teachers and students worked diligently, shoveling, cultivating, and watering the soil with enthusiasm and anticipation, showcasing youth in full bloom. The students also hung distinctive signs with their best blessings on the branches of the newly planted trees. This activity not only beautified the campus but also fostered a deeper appreciation for campus life and strengthened environmental awareness.

In recent years, CUEB has been committed to building a Garden-Like School and has continuously improved its greening area through diverse activities. Since 2024, over 700 people have participated in the “Refreshing CUEB” activity. This year, CUEB will continue its green campus construction with a series of activities, including flower offering on Mother’s Day, spirit nursery, and regular field work, aiming to create a greener, more harmonious, and beautiful campus environment.

The “Refreshing CUEB” Arbor Day Activity successfully enhanced students’ environmental awareness while fostering teacher-student communication and collaboration. Moving forward, the university will continue to embrace green development and work with faculty and students to create an even more beautiful and harmonious green campus.

Students’ Feedback

Xiang Xueqi, a 2022 undergraduate from the College for Urban Economics and Public Administration, shared, “This tree-planting activity was much more than just planting; it was a lesson in perseverance. The physical labor of digging and planting tested our resolve. Like trees that grow strong through weathering the elements, we students must also face challenges head-on, gaining experience and growing up. Only then can we contribute to the society better”

Zhang Sunfeifan, a 2022 undergraduate from the School of Labor Economics, said, “The tree-planting process, from digging to watering, demands focus and perseverance. Similarly, in our youth, we must take solid steps to success. Saplings need deep roots and nutrients to thrive, just as we students must ground ourselves in knowledge and keep learning. Only then can we stand firm against future challenges.”

Liu Xiangbo, a 2021 undergraduate from the School of Culture and Communication, expressed, “At the beginning, we struggled with digging, but when the sapling stood firmly after being planted and watered, a sense of accomplishment washed over us. We worked together in a harmonious atmosphere. Trees not only beautify the environment but also serve as a reminder that as university students, we should actively contribute to creating a greener Beijing and a more beautiful campus.”
