President Wu Weixing Meets with President Kim Yoon Bae from Cheongju University

On April 16, Wu Weixing, Deputy Secretary of CUEB Party Committee and President, met with Kim Yoon Bae, President of Cheongju University, and his delegation in Boyuan Building. Both sides had in-depth discussions on promoting educational exchanges and strengthening cooperation between the two universities and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU).

Wu extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Cheongju University. He introduced the development history, distinctive features, and recent achievements of CUEB. He highlighted that CUEB, as a Beijing municipal high-level research university, ranks among the top in China’s finance and economics institutions, with a high level of international education. CUEB and Cheongju University shared a solid foundation for cooperation in fields such as business, engineering, and arts. He proposed deepening the cooperation in student exchanges, faculty visits, as well as academic and research collaboration to boost mutual development.

Kim Yoon Bae thanked the host for the warm reception and outlined the history and key features of Cheongju University. He noted its long-standing history, strong faculty, and distinctive majors, as well as its global university partnerships. He highly supported the cooperation proposal and looked forward to future joint projects.

After the meeting, the two sides signed the MOU, formally establishing a partnership between CUEB and Cheongju University to promote all-around and in-depth collaboration in personnel cultivation, scientific research, and academic exchanges.

Cheongju University delegation included Lee In Sook, Professor of the Department of Film and Image; Lim Jong Yun, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchanges Office; Kim Yong Ho, Chinese Affairs Director of the International Exchange Office. From CUEB, attendees were Liu Wenchuan, Director International Cooperation and Exchanges Office and Dean of the School of International Education; Shi Gang, Party Secretary of the School of Culture and Communication and Yu Jia, Vice Dean of the School of International Education. The meeting and MOU signing provide a broader platform for faculty and students of both universities and inject new vitality into China-Korea educational exchange and cooperation.

Cheongju University, a well-known private comprehensive university in Korea, is located in Cheongju City, the capital of North Chungcheong Province. It is distinguished for its programs in business, engineering, arts, etc., offering undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs across 54 majors.
